Makakilo Stake Vision
“That we may be one” (D&C 35:2)
“Individuals and families of the Makakilo Stake to be united as one in faith, one in purpose, one in heart, and ultimately, one in Jesus Christ to invite all of God’s children, on both sides of the veil, to come unto the Savior, make and keep sacred covenants, have enduring joy, and qualify for eternal life,”

Stake Presidency Message
Aloha Brothers and Sisters,
We hope this message finds you and your ʻohana safe, well, and filled with the Spirit. We are deeply grateful for your continued faith, love, and service here in our stake. Your efforts, both seen and unseen, are a vital part of this sacred work.
A special mahalo to all who helped with and participated in the recent Seminary Open House. It was a beautiful reminder of the strength and promise of our rising generation. The Spirit was strong as youth and parents alike felt the power of the scriptures and the blessings of early morning discipleship. Your support helps create a foundation that will bless these youth for a lifetime.
Looking Back: The Temple and Our Spiritual Foundation
In July, our focus on “The Temple and Your Spiritual Foundation” brought many of us closer to the Savior through temple worship, family history, and quiet moments of reflection. As we build our lives upon Jesus Christ, the sure foundation, the temple stands as a place of refuge, revelation, and renewal.
Many of you shared powerful testimonies and experiences of how the temple has strengthened your faith and brought peace to your lives. We encourage you to continue making the temple a central part of your spiritual routine—even if only through preparing to enter or by working on family names.
August Theme: Love, Share, and Invite
This month, we shift our focus to a Christlike pattern of ministering and missionary work, drawn from General Handbook, Chapter 23, and inspired by the teachings of Elder Gary E. Stevenson:
Love as Christ does.
Share what brings you joy.
Invite others to come and see.
These simple yet powerful steps are ways we can naturally share the gospel in our homes, neighborhoods, and daily interactions. You don’t need a nametag to be a missionary—just a heart full of love and a willingness to act. Small, genuine efforts can lead to eternal blessings.
Exciting Upcoming Events:
This month brings many opportunities to invite others to feel the Savior’s love:
Seminary Begins
Seminary classes start again this month! Please continue to support and encourage our youth as they commit to studying the gospel each day before school. These small daily efforts will help them build spiritual strength and resilience.

Young Single Adults across the region are invited to gather for four days of spiritual instruction, friendship, service, and fun. This is a powerful opportunity to meet others who are striving to follow the Savior and prepare for their future.
August 15–17: Hawaii Tri-Stake Single Adult Conference (click the link to register)
This special gathering of single adults from across the island will include workshops, devotionals, service projects, and social events. All single adults ages 36 + are invited. Come be uplifted and make meaningful connections!
August 31 – 5th Sunday 2nd Hour Lesson (Love, Share, Invite)
Elder Quentin L. Cook and Elder Ronald A. Rasband have requested that each unit hold a 5th Sunday lesson during the 2nd hour on August 31, 2025 on the topic of Love, Share, and Invite. We invite all adults and youth to attend a combined lesson during the 2nd hour. This will be a time to unify as wards and a stake, receive instruction, and counsel together. Details will be shared in your ward announcements.
A Call to Action - This month, we encourage you to:
Pray about someone you can love, share with, or invite.
Look for small and simple ways to share and testify of Christ in your everyday conversations.
Invite someone to one of the upcoming events this month!
“The Savior’s invitation is simple: Come unto me. And as we come to Him, we are often the instruments He uses to help others come as well.” – Elder Gary E. Stevenson
