Aloha Brothers and Sisters,
As we welcome the month of February, we reflect with gratitude on a wonderful and faith-filled January. It was a strong beginning to the year as we focused on our theme “Walk with Me,” inviting each of us to draw closer to the Savior through intentional discipleship. We have felt the Lord’s hand guiding our stake as we have sought to walk with Him individually and collectively.
January was especially uplifting for our youth, who had a meaningful experience participating in stake youth temple baptisms at the Laie Hawaii Temple. Many shared feelings of peace, joy, and a deeper connection to Jesus Christ. This was followed by an inspiring stake youth fireside centered on the youth theme and the invitation to walk with the Savior daily. We are grateful for the faith of our youth, their leaders and families who support them.
We were also blessed to complete ward conferences in the Makakilo, Kapolei, Nanakuli, and Waianae 1st Wards. These conferences were spiritual highlights, strengthening unity and providing opportunities for counsel, testimony, and encouragement. Additionally, we are grateful for the sustaining and reorganization of the Waianae Bishopric. We thank those who were released for their faithful service and extend our love and support to those who have been newly called to serve.
February Theme: “Remember Who You Are — A Child of God, Perfectly Loved.”
This theme reminds all of us of our divine identity and eternal worth. As children of a perfect Heavenly Father, we are known, loved, and trusted. Remembering who we are gives us strength to face challenges, resist discouragement, and move forward with faith and confidence in our Savior Jesus Christ.
This theme is beautifully reinforced in Elder Patrick Kearon’s talk, “Receive His Gift.” He teaches that the love of Jesus Christ is not something we earn through perfection, but a divine gift freely offered to each of us. When we truly receive His gift His love, grace, and mercy we begin to see ourselves as He sees us: known, valued, and deeply loved.
This message is for all of us. As we remember who we are and receive the Savior’s gift more fully, we gain courage to move forward, strength to repent and grow, and peace amid life’s uncertainties.
We invite each member of the stake to intentionally receive the Savior’s gift this month through prayer, scripture study, temple worship, or offering kindness to others. As you do, we promise you will feel a deeper sense of divine worth, renewed hope, and greater closeness to Jesus Christ.
We also encourage you to read and ponder the following messages:
“The Great Plan” – President Dallin H. Oaks
“Receive His Gift” – Elder Patrick Kearon
“O How Great the Plan of Our God” – Elder Dieter F. Uchtdorf (April 2016)
We express our sincere love and aloha to each of you. Thank you for your continued faith, service, and devotion to the Lord. We look forward to all that lies ahead as we continue walking together toward Jesus Christ.
