Aloha Brothers and Sisters,
Thank you for your faith, service, and devotion to the Savior’s work. August was a beautiful month in the Makakilo Hawaii Stake. Together, we embraced the theme of “Love, Share, and Invite,” and we witnessed the Spirit touch hearts as we increased our capacity to reach out in love.
We are grateful for the many inspired gatherings throughout the month of August:
Regional Young Single Adult Conference at BYU–Hawaii – A powerful weekend of faith, fellowship, and discipleship where young adults strengthened each other and drew closer to Christ.
Hawaii Tri-Stake Single Adult Conference – A joyful and uplifting gathering of single adults who were reminded that they are an essential part of God’s work and plan.
Stake Youth Fireside – A special evening where our youth learned and testified of how sharing the gospel brings happiness and light.
5th Sunday Combined Lesson – We united in councils and classes to better understand how simple acts of love and invitation can bring souls closer to the Savior.
We rejoice in the spirit that was felt throughout August, and we express heartfelt thanks to all who participated, taught, and invited others to come and see.
September Theme: “Now is the time for you and me to prepare for the Second Coming of our Lord and Savior, Jesus the Christ”
The scriptures teach us:
“This life is the time for men to prepare to meet God” (Alma 34:32).
President Russell M. Nelson has testified:
“The Lord Jesus Christ will come again. And when He does, we must be ready to meet Him. None of us can afford to delay or procrastinate this most important preparation.”
Now is the time. Not tomorrow, not someday, today. We are called to prepare our hearts, our homes, and our lives for the glorious day when our Savior will return.
Preparing for the Second Coming is not only about ourselves; it is also about helping others be ready to receive Him. Through daily repentance, temple worship, ministering, and sharing the gospel, we actively participate in gathering Israel and preparing the world for His return.
As we look forward to the blessings of this sacred focus, we invite each of you to:
Deepen your personal discipleship through daily prayer, scripture study, and repentance.
Strengthen your home by making it a place of faith and preparation.
Prepare others by loving, sharing, and inviting them to come unto Christ.
As we prepare individually and collectively for the Savior’s return, the Lord will bless us with peace, courage, and clarity amidst the challenges of our day. Your efforts will not only prepare you but will also strengthen your families and bless generations to come.
